Job Title: Bus Mechanic
Job Description
As a Bus Mechanic, you will work on CTA buses, diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical systems, performing minor engine work, handling transmissions, brakes, oil changes, AC units, and body work (inside and outside). You will use hand tools and power drills to fix the buses and conduct visual inspections before and after completing the work.
Responsibilities
Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical systems.
Perform minor engine work and handle transmissions.
Conduct brake repairs and oil changes.
Maintain and repair AC units.
Perform body work both inside and outside of buses.
Use hand tools and power drills for repairs.
Complete visual inspections on all buses before and after work.
Work independently and manage up to 10 job orders per day.
Document completed work and any unfinished tasks.
Essential Skills
1-5 years of experience working on buses, trucks, or cars
Proficiency with hand tools and power tools.
Experience performing visual inspections.
Electrical systems diagnosis experience on cars or trucks
Strong computer and documentation skills.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.
