Parts Counter Service Rep Jobs in Kansas
A Parts Counter Service Representative in the automotive industry is responsible for providing customer service, selling auto parts, and managing inventory. They interact with customers to determine their needs, provide accurate information about parts, and aid in the selection and purchase process. They are also tasked with restocking parts, conducting inventory checks, processing orders and returns, and maintaining an organized, efficient parts department. In addition, they may have to coordinate with service technicians to ensure the correct parts are available for repairs.
Essential skills for this role include excellent communication and customer service skills, knowledge of automotive parts, and the ability to use inventory management software. In-depth understanding of the automotive industry and parts cataloging is crucial. Certification in Automotive Parts Counter (P2) from the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) is often required. Prior roles someone might have before becoming a Parts Counter Service Rep include Parts Delivery Driver, Warehouse Associate, or even an Entry-Level Service Technician, all of which would provide relevant skills and experience.
